The project’s Kick Off Event . It comprises the Activities and Stakeholders’ Forum meeting, the 1^st Steering Committee and Advisory Board meeting as well as MSFD Competent Authorities Board meeting. This was a two days event of fruitful discussions.

MEDREGION 2^nd Steering Committee meeting

9th of July 2019, Rome

The 2^nd Steering Committee meeting took place in MATTM (Ministry of the Environment; Land and Sea) in Rome where the 6^th months project progress was extensively discussed together with all of the activities’ issues of concern and the way forward

MEDREGION side Event: Tools and methods for tracking progress towards achieving Good Environmental Status through the MSFD/EcAp with a focus on biodiversity

4^th of December 2019

in UNEP/MAP Side Events – 21st Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Convention for the Protection of Marine Environment and the Coastal Region of the Mediterranean and its Protocols, 1-5 December 2019

During this side-event HCMR presented methodologies and tools developed by various partners as part of the EU-funded projects MEDCIS and MEDREGION in order to support the assessment of the environmental status under the MSFD. The presentation focused on the results of testing the NEAT assessment method in the Saronikos Gulf, on the Benthic Habitat Risk Assessment through an index assessing anthropogenic pressures using a GIS tool, and on the method developed under MEDCIS, to assess the implementation progress and the effectiveness of the programmes of measures for the MSFD.

MEDREGION Annual General Assembly, 3^rdSC and 2^nd AB & Stakeholders’ and Experts’ Forum& Competent Authorities Meeting

MEDREGION workshops of Activity 3, 7 and 6.

12^th – 14^th of February 2020, Rome

Venue: ISPRA, via Vitaliano Brancati 60,00144 Rome – Italy

This is a three days event comprising of the Annual General Assembly (GA) followed by a discussion on the 3^rd Steering Committee Meeting (SC) together with the invited stakeholders and the Advisory Board. The event took place in Rome, Italy, at the premises of Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA).

During the GA, activity leaders presented the annual progress of their activities and discussions with the stakeholders took place, whereas during the workshops of activities 3, 7 and 6 more detailed presentations on the scientific results were reported together with all issues encountered so far of the MEDREGION project.
